Ondo SDP Dissociate Party From The Third Force Arrangement

  • The leadership of Social Democratic Party (SDP) has dissociated the party from the ‘Third Force’ arrangement in Ondo State to unseat Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The news that fourteen political parties that included SDP have collapsed their structures into that of Action Democratic Party (ADP) has been described by stalwarts of the party as false and concocted.

A member of SDP from Ifedore Local Government, Vincent Akinde condemned Biyi Poroye for involving the party in his scheme he said was aimed at playing to the media gallery so as to remain relevant in the politics of Ondo State.

Also, while denying the news of SDP being a part of the ‘Third Force’ arrangement, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye said there was nothing like an arrangement to collapse the party’s structure into that of ADP.

“The news of SDP joining other parties to collapse their structures into that of ADP came to us as a rude shock. How on earth would a party that has already produced a serving member of the House of Representatives will foolishly chose to fuse its structures into that of a party that has not even produced a councillor. This is really an insult on the achievement of SDP”.

The federal lawmaker also condemned what he described as a concocted scheme of a ‘third force’ arrangement which has unfortunately involved SDP. He emphasized that his party could not have been a party to any coalition arrangement without being informed from the beginning.

“As a major stakeholder in the affairs of Social Democratic Party. There is just no way that the leadership of our party both at the state and national level would have ever formed an
alliance with non existing parties.
Most of the parties mentioned in the alliance are dead parties in the real sense of it. Let me emphatically assure all members of SDP and the good people of Ondo State that the news of coalition with ADP is false, concocted and fraudulent”, said Adefisoye.
