BUHARI KILLS TINUBU’S PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION, DUMPS OSHIOMHOLE, BACKS GAIDOM
President Muhammadu Buhari may have put a final nail on the ambition of former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to contest the 2023 Presidential elections under the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Tinubu has been making nocturnal consultation with political leaders, announcing his desire to succeed President Mohammadu Buhari.
Part of his schemes, according to pointblanknews.com investigations was to keep former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, or former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, as the party’s chairman to create a smooth path to his aspiration.
But Buhari broke his silence on the leadership crisis rocking the APC, saying that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman.
The President’s tacit endorsement of Giadom is seen as an endorsement of the Mallam Elrufai and Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s led faction of the APC, Pointblanknews.com has learned.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that Tinubu, Ajimobi, and Oshiomhole belong to the same faction in APC, the reason why they were insisting on having the former Oyo State Governor as Acting National Chairman to keep the status quo following the removal of Oshiomhole.
Governor Elrufai and Rotimi Amaechi have been at the forefront of some APC leaders who are openly against the aspirations of Tinubu
“The President has received very convincing advice on the position of the law as far as the situation in the party is concerned and has determined that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman,” Garba Shehu, a presidential spokesperson said in a statement.
Shehu said President Buhari would be attending the virtual meeting Giadom called for tomorrow afternoon.
