Troops kill two suspected bandits, capture Nigerian arms supplier
TROOPS of Operation Sahel Sanity have killed two suspected bandits and captured a Nigerien gun supplier.
The troops were also said to have rescued five kidnapped victims in Katsina and Zamfara states.
A statement by the Nigerian Army Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Brig. Gen. Benard Onyeuko, made available to journalists in Katsina on Monday, identified the alleged Nigerien gun supplieras Musa Abubakar, alias Kasko/Buzu from Mai Wake village, Dakoro area of Maradi, Niger Republic.
In a similar development, the troops were said to have rescued four victims earlier kidnapped in Sabuwa on Saturday.
A statement indicated that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, commended the troops for their performance.
Buratai urged them not to rest on their oars, but build on the successes so far achieved, even as he further assured the people of the North-West of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to the safety of lives and property within the zone.
