The Ondo state Chairperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Mrs. Adetokunbo Saka Adetoro has described as mischievous and misleading the purported declaration of support by the party for the ZLP candidate, Hon. Agboola Ajayi.
In a statement credited to her, Mrs. Adetoro who described the group behind the declaration as being constituted by former leaders and caretaker committee members of the party who had been sanctioned by the National leadership of the party and have turned themselves to political miscreants and merchants. She further claimed that they have been cut-off from party activities for a long time and as such resulted to traversing various parties before they finally berthed where they are at the moment just to satisfy their filthy lucre.
Mrs. Adetoro further declared that all local government chairmen who attended the purported fraudulent declaration of support have been indefinitely suspended with immediate effect.
Reacting to the development, the Candidate of the party, Prince Dapo Adelegan (PDA) described as laughable and comical that a group of people would just gather somewhere and declare support for an individual. “On what ground and on whose authority did they do that? Can that be done without me? It’s just a storm in a cup, a paper weight distraction. We will not loose focus”, Adelegan submitted.
He rather posited that his rising profile and his formidabllity was responsible for the panic declaration. He claimed that he is unperturbed as his campaign continues and he is set to emerge victorious at the governorship election scheduled to hold on October, 10, 2020.
