Troops Save Borno Governor’s Convoy From Boko Haram Attack

Lafia Dole early on Friday repelled an attack by Boko Haram elements on the convoys of Borno State officials at a spot called Korochara around 2pm on Friday, September 25, 2020 while on an assignment to resettle Internally Displaced Persons in Baga to their ancestral homes.

A reliable security source informed that the Borno State officials convoy ran into an ambush by Boko Haram in a location which is about 2 kilometer away from the base of the Multi-National Joint Task Force on the way to Baga from Monguno.

The source further revealed that
15 security personnel comprising three soldiers, eight policemen and four Civilian-JTF personnel died in the ambush attack.

It was also gathered that Borno State officials that were injured in the attack have since been evacuated to a medical facility.

Similarly, troops of Operation Sahel Sanity on Thursday, September 24, 2020 killed 21 bandits in a gun duel. However, the troops unfortunately lost two officers and three soldiers during the operation.

According to the Spokesman of Operation Sahel Sanity, Brigadier General Onyeuko, three kidnapped victims that include an 8 months old infant that have been in captivity of the criminals for more than 23 days were rescued by the troops.
