The Ondo State House of Assembly today, turned four of its members away, preventing them from resuming their legislative duties. This refusal is done in spite of court rulings.

The members of were prevented from entering the parliament by security personnel. The incident was captured in a video recording that made the rounds on social media.

The Akure Division of the Court of Appeal on Wednesday struck out a motion for stay of execution filed by the State House of Assembly after the reinstatement of Iroju Ogundeji, Wale Williams and Favour Tomomewo had been ordered by the High Court.

Justice Omoleye Olabisi of the Court of Appeal described the suit as frivolous and ordered that the members be allowed to resume their duties.
The three members were suspended over allegations of gross misconduct.

They were among the nine lawmakers who opposed the impeachment notice against Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi after he dumped the APC.

On November 5, Ondo State High Court had set aside the indefinite suspension of the deputy minority leader Tomide Akinribido.

Mr. Akinribido also confirmed the blocking of lawmakers from the assembly premises in a tweet Thursday afternoon.
