Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has said the government would soon begin biometric registration for motorcyclists, as part of measures to tackle insecurity.

He said there is need to tackle insecurity before it gets out of hand.

The governor, who spoke while kicking off the 2020 Press Week organised by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State council, advised journalists to fight for the betterment of Nigeria.

He said: “We want to know the Okada riders in Oyo State.  We want to have identity management of Okada people in Oyo State. Their biometric will be captured. It is true we have business friendly environment, but we must know them.”

The Chairman of NUJ Oyo State council, Ademola Babalola, praised the governor for his support for the media.
