Kidnappers raid Mosque, abduct traditional ruler in Kogi

In what will no longer be shocking to many Nigerians, another kidnapping incident has occurred in the country again and in a place of worship to boot.

This time, the incident occurred in Kogi state. Here, Shuaibu Usman, acting Eje of Ankpa in Ankpa local government area of the state, was kidnapped.

According to reports, the criminals kidnapped the traditional ruler while entering a mosque to observe prayers around 5:30am on Friday, December 18.

The Cable reports that the incident was confirmed by Ayuba Ede, the state commissioner of police.

He was reported to have said the suspected kidnappers laid an ambush at the mosque before the abduction.

However, he said that the criminals are yet to make any contact with the family, adding that the police are doing everything possible to rescue him.
