We’ll develop Oyo with proceeds from mineral resources, agriculture – Makinde
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State says his administration has resolved to boost the state Internally Generated Revenue through the mineral deposits and agricultural potential in the Oke Ogun area of the state.
Makinde spoke during his meeting with traditional rulers from Oke Ogun Zone 1, at the palace of the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi.
The governor was in Oke Ogun to inspect ongoing works in Saki, the headquarters of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency.
Makinde, who described the community as the treasure base of Oyo State, said his government would give the zone the attention it deserved.
He said, “I have inspected the ongoing project of OYSADA headquarters that we brought here. Though they have made some progress, I am still not satisfied. They promised that it would be completed by 10th of December, but they said there were challenges with evaluation and release of funds. Now, that is being resolved and I look forward to coming back here by the end of March.”
The governor, who disclosed that he signed an agreement for the mapping of the mineral resources in Oke Ogun as a prelude to their extraction, urged traditional rulers in the zone to support the government to aid its developmental agenda.
