Southampton defeated reigning champions and current league leaders, Liverpool 1-0 on Monday, becoming the only club to have defeated all seven champions in the season following their title in the history of Premier League.

Danny Ings’s goal two minutes into the game gave the home side victory over the Reds at St Mary’s.

Tonight’s victory moved Southampton sixth on the English Premier League table with 29 points in 17 games, while Liverpool remain first on the league table with 33 points in 17 games.

However, Liverpool risk losing the top spot to Manchester United. Manchester United is second on the League with 33 points in 16 games.
