MAY DAY: AJIPE COMMENDS ONDO WORKERS
As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate this year’s workers day, the Convener of IBI GIGA AMBASSADORS Chief Alex Ajipe has advocated better welfare packages for civil servants.
Ajipe said that every society must remember and appreciate its workers as they are the real heroes of the society, adding that Workers Day was about remembering and celebrating those who give their time, best efforts and work hard for the good of the society.
In a statement by his Media Aide, Solomon Adewoye in Akure the state Capital, Ajipe described workers in Ondo state as chief development and growth partners that must be adequately compensated.
Ajipe however urged the organised labour to continue to show understanding, while rightly insisting on the due and just entitlements of their members.
He further advised the labour movement not to only enquire after what workers can get from the government but also what they can do to further contribute to support the government in making a difference in the lives of the people.
“Most of the challenges facing us today are largely man-made and therefore the solutions lie in our collective capacity and ability to chart a new path that will lead to higher productivity, wealth creation and job opportunities”.
“I therefore identify with the entire work force in Ondo State and share with you the mission to sustain and increase our common wealth for the prosperity of all,” he said.
