Army Troops Bust Boko Haram Logistics Stockpiles in Yobe

 

Nigerian Army troops of Operation Hadin Kai have raised a suspected Boko Haram logistics stockpiles at Kurkareta town in Yobe State on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

The operation was successfully carried out by the troops in conjunction with local vigilantes. The raid was however undertaken
following a credible intelligence that some members of the community were suppliers of fuel and other products to the insurgents.

News of the successful operation was made known in a press release on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 by the
Director of Army Public Relations,
Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima.

Meanwhile, items recovered by the troops from insurgents during the raid include 62 Jerry cans loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol which were hidden in different houses of and shops. Also, three vehicles belonging to the terrorists’ suppliers with registration numbers DAL 626 YE (Kano), GBK 413 GR (Benue) and XA 390 SHN (Borno) were equally seized by the troops.

It was also added by the Director of Army Public Relations that all the recovered items and the suspects
were already in the custody of Nigerian Army for preliminary investigations, after which they would be handed over to the appropriate prosecuting agency.

Moreso, Nigerian Army has however assured of sustained offensive operations in Kurkareta town of Yobe State. It was also assured that Army leadership was committed to achieving the overall objective of keeping the North East and the entire country free of banditry, terrorism and other violent criminal activities.
