BREAKING: Buhari Appoints New Chief of Army Staff
President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Major General Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
This appointment was made known by the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu on Thursday, May 27, 2021.
Prior to the appointment of Major General Yahaya, he was the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of Nigerian Army and the incumbent Theatre Commander of the Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency military outfit in the North East, which is code named Operation Hadin Kai.
The military authority has however urged that the appointment of Major General Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff, be given wide publicly.
