OLUMBE AKINKUGBE FOUNDATION OFFERS FREE MEDICAL TREATMENTS TO RURAL/INDIGENT PATIENTS IN ONDO.
Many rural dwellers with either serious or minor ailments in Ondo East and Ondo West local government areas of Ondo state have received free medical treatments courtesy of Olumbe Akinkugbe Foundation in partnership with a non governmental organization, Heart Doctors Foundation of Greece.
This is in line with the United Nations MDG’s goal on good, qualitative and free healthcare delivery to the rural communities across the world.
To implement the MDG’s goal in Ondo state, Heart Doctors Foundation of Greece, (a group of medical volunteers) in collaboration with Olumbe Akinkugbe Foundation embarked on the free medical outreach to the communities in Ondo East and Ondo West Local Government Areas, Ondo State, southwest Nigeria.
In accordance with protocols and traditions, the medical team led by the Founder of Olumbe Akinkugbe Foundation, Barr. Olumbe Akinkugbe who is also the Chairman, Ondo State Information Technology Agency, SITA, paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Ademefun Kiladejo, Jilo the 111, CFR, the Osemawe and Paramount Ruler of Ondo Kingdom for his royal blessings.
The medical outreach tagged ‘Ilera Loogun Oro’ train later moved from Osemawe’s palace to Bolorunduro, the administrative headquarters of Ondo East Local Government and from there to Erinketa, Bagbe and other rural communities where people who are in dire need of medical attention trooped out in large number to receive free treatment from the world class medical experts.
Interestingly, the turnout was not only massive and encouraging but words are also insufficient to caption the excitement and happiness of the beneficiaries as they kept praying for the medical volunteers and the facilitator. Olumbe Akinkugbe Foundation.
Speaking with the press at the end of a week long programme, the facilitator, Brr. Olumbe Akinkugbe simply went philosophical as he asked, what more can i say, seeing my people, mostly the aged, women and the children asking for more ?.
Over 2,000 people benefited from the medical outreach.
