The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians that there will be effective implementation of the law in the 2023 general election.
The commission had several times enjoined political parties to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu gave the assurance yesterday during the second quarterly meeting with media executives at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
He said: “It is now time to ensure the effective implementation of the law. In doing so, the commission will continue to work very closely and collaboratively with the media organisations and all other stakeholders”.
The commission also said the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) would be tested to ensure optimal performance ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election slated for June 18.
