Expressing satisfaction with the process, Olumbe commended the screening committee for their thoroughness, fairness, and professionalism during the screening. He also commended the leadership of the party for a well-organized screening exercise. Furthermore, Olumbe took time to appreciate his teeming supporters, volunteers, and campaign team who have supported his noble ambition from the beginning.
He said “the support I have enjoyed from friends and well-wishers since the commencement of this campaign has been unprecedented. I’d like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed in one way or the other to this campaign because it is your support and encouragement that has brought me this far.”
Speaking on the forthcoming primaries, Olumbe expressed confidence in beating the incumbent to clinch the party’s ticket. “I do not doubt that with the support I have enjoyed and the yearnings of my people back home, I will win the primaries. I have the support of most of the delegates and party faithful, many of whom would come through for me at the primaries.”
