It has become necessary to put in proper perspective the brief appearance of soldiers in Idanre on Monday after an unsuccessful attempt on the life of our House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye.
It is a public knowledge that Hon. Adefisoye is the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Army. As such, it is naturally expected of him to formally report the assassination attempt on his life to the Brigade Commander of Owena Cantonment.
Upon receipt of a formal petition from Hon. Adefisoye, the Brigade Commander authorized the despatch of a team of soldiers to Idanre for fact finding and first hand assessment of the situation.
Contrary to unconscionable misrepresentation of what transpired by PDP agents, the soldiers only visited the scene of the assassination attempt for proper assessment and ended up picking up some expelled bullets that are likely to become useful in their assignment.
Also, contrary to the lies of the PDP,
the soldiers left Idanre after a brief appearance and no single soul was harassed, manhandled or arrested.. We therefore challenge anyone with a contrary information to provide modicum evidence of unbecoming behavior by the soldiers.
We are also not unmindful of the reality that the guilty ones are often the quickest to point accusing fingers. Notwithstanding the assassination attempt and the flurry of lies being bandied by PDP agents in Idanre, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye is peace loving and law abiding citizen. He deeply loves his people and will never do anything to harm or compromise their safety.
We therefore enjoin the good people of Idanre to go about their normal business and turn deaf ears to the pathological lies of PDP agent in Idanre Local Government.
