Ondo Assembly confirms Isaac as commissioner-designate
The Ondo State House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed Mrs Omowumi Isaac as a commissioner-designate.
Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa had on Feb. 2 submitted the names of six commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The nominees, were, therefore screened and confirmed on Feb.6 but Isaac, the sixth commissioner-nominee, was, however, not available for the exercise, but no reason was given for her absence.
Presenting the report on the personality of the nominee, the Deputy Speaker, Abayomi Akinruntan, said that the the nominee provided excellent answers to questions directed to her.
Akinruntan, who is the Vice Chairman of the House’s Selection Committee, added that the nominee had requirements to be appointed as a commissioner in the state.
He stated that the nominee was fit, sound and physically qualified to serve as a commissioner in the state.
The Majority Leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, Owo 1/APC, therefore, moved a motion for the nominee to be presented for screening and confirmation and the motion was seconded by Hon. Raymond Laolu, Akoko South-West 1/APC.
Ogunmolasuyi appreciated the Selection Committee for finding the nominee worthy to fit into an office of a commissioner.
Chief Olamide Oladiji, the Speaker of the House, urged Isaac to live to the expectations of people of the state, asking her to join hands with the state governor for development of the state.
Oladiji promised that the legislative arm would continue to collaborate with the state governor for rapid development and growth of the state.
Responding, Isaac appreciated the state governor and the House of the Assembly for the consideration.
She promised that she would not let the people down.
