Ondo police arrest Cleric over possession of human parts
The police in Ondo state have detained an Islamic cleric, Oluwafemi Idris, on charges of possessing human body parts unlawfully.
State police command spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami, revealed that Idris, also known as Alfa in his community, stored the human remains in his residence with the intention of using them for ritualistic purposes.
Odunlami explained that the arrest stemmed from intelligence received from a credible source, prompting swift action by the police to apprehend the suspect at his home in Akoko.
Upon search, various human body parts including hands, three kidneys, three hearts, a spine, and a tongue were discovered.
The cleric alleged that some of the human parts were supplied by his friend, who is also a cleric, and one Samuel Kutelu.
