Ondo: How residents attacked truck carrying food Items
On Monday, residents near the Cultural Center area along Ondo Road in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, launched an attack on a truck transporting food items.
The incident occurred when the truck experienced a breakdown while traveling from Ondo town to the state capital.
Eyewitnesses reported that the looted items, including foodstuffs packaged in cartons bearing the image of President Bola Tinubu, were targeted by the attackers. Among the assailants were motorcycle riders and other local residents who seized the opportunity to plunder the truck’s cargo.
When journalists got to the scene where the looting occurred, there were empty cartons and grains of rice and gari on the roadside and the main Ondo road while the truck has been moved.
