Police seek help locating family of 14-year-old Ugandan boy lost in Lagos
The Lagos state police command has found a teenage boy who claimed to have just arrived from Kampala, Ugandan, with his sister.
In a statement on his official X handle on Saturday, the command’s public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the boy has been in their custody since May 23, 2024.
The command’s spokesperson quoted the boy as saying that he and his sister later were unable to find each other and didn’t know her address or her phone number, let alone anyone in Uganda.
Mr Hundeyin wrote, “14-year-old Mukejji Nathaniel Milian claims he arrived Nigeria with his sister from Kampala, Uganda and missed her somewhere in Lagos.”
“He does not know her phone number or address in Nigeria, neither does he know any phone number in Uganda. He has been with us since May 23, 2024,” he stated.
He said the command has established contacts with the High Commission of the Republic of Uganda and is awaiting their response. He urged people to “share to enable him reunite with his sister.”
