Gombe uncle to face trial for attempted murder – NSCDC

The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Gombe State Muhammad Bello, on Sunday told The PUNCH that Yahaya Buba, the uncle that necessitated the amputation of a 21-year-old nephew will be charged with attempted murder.

Bello in an interview with our correspondent decried the tying of the hands of Adamu Mohammed, for allegedly stealing a phone.

Our correspondent had reported that Mohammed’s arms were tied which culminated in its amputation.

The tying had caused his arms to become numb following a lack of blood flow.

The commandant said, “We are charging him for attempted murder. What he did was an attempt to the boy’s life, for life he has incapacitated him.”

Debunking insinuations that the Corps would release him following the close ties, he shares with the victim, he bemoaned the complicity of the victim’s father for using the money provided to treat his son.

“We are not mad to release him (the perpetrator). Initially, we arrested the biological father for his pure act of cruelty.
