Ondo 2024: APC welcomes new members from PDP

Ahead of the forth coming gubernatorial election coming up in Ondo State in November 16, 2024, the All Progressives Congress on Monday received new members from the People’s Democratic Party in old Okitipupa division in the Southern Senatorial District of the State.

Leading the team of decampees, Mrs Esther Ebiwonjumi noted that they were fully determined to support Governor Aiyedatiwa, noting that he has been doing wel and are ready to work with him and be a part of his success. She added that they are not being forced or coerced to join APC or support Aiyedatiwa but they all believe in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy.

Also speaking, His Eminence Dr. Joshua Orogbemi Akintan(Arinnade Mimo), founder, Zion Gospellers’ church who spoke on behalf of council of primates in Okitipupa LGA and members of Zion Gospellers’ Church, Okitipupa, appreciated the Governor, expressed his happiness to receive the Governor, urging him not to forget people in Okitipupa LGA, pleading for appointment of religious leaders, employment of youths who are graduates. While praying for the success of the Governor, the Clergyman declared the church’s total support.

In his reaction, Governor Aiyedatiwa congratulated the decampees, noting that nothing is static on this world. He appreciated the religious leaders, stakeholders and youths for disassociating themselves from the protests.

While welcoming them, the Governor assured them that they would not be looked down upon or cast aside by the APC family.

He promised to look into the challenges laid down by Okitipupa residents.

In attendance were: Commisoner for Commerce and cooperative services, Pastor Segun Ayerin, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on women affairs, Mrs Seun Osamaye, Special Assistant to the Governor on Trade Affairs, Mrs Eko Davies, member representing Ilaje constituency 2, Hon. Olawumi Fayemi-Obayelu, Special Adviser to the Governor on education, Dr Olawumi Ilawole, Traditional rulers from Ilaje, Okitipupa
