No going back on prepaid meter distribution —Aiyedatiwa’s Aide assures

The Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Energy, Engr. Johnson Alabi, has disclosed that the state government would not renege on the distribution of prepaid meters to the residents of the state.

Alabi gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the Aiyedatiwa Online Media team to his office on Thursday.

Contrary to viral speculation in some quarters that some residents who had showed perspicacious interest in purchasing the meters had been apparently swindled, Alabi strongly refuted the claims, describing it as mendacious and pseudo.

He also noted that the speculation was being peddled by some anti-democratic elements commissioned to dent the unblemished administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa.

He further clarified that the government would commence distribution of the meters before August, 2024, ends.

“The government has not deceived anyone; please don’t be swayed by false narratives. The Ondo State government is distributing these to help ease the burden on residents who need them. I assure you that residents will receive their meters by the end of the month,” Alabi emphasized.

While conducting the visiting team round his office, the Governor’s Aide showed a storeroom where the meters are kept, stating that the meters are intact but awaiting the official flag off.

However, Alabi urged residents to be rest assured that the distribution of the meters will commence before the end of this month, while he advised them to turn deaf ears to skewed narratives about the state government.
