Lawmaker urges Aiyedatiwa to set up security trust fund board

A lawmaker representing Okitipupa Constituency 2 in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ololade Gbegudu has urged Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa to set up the board for Security Trust Fund and enforce necessary deductions as stated in the law.

Gbegudu, who is the Chairman House Committee on Security, appreciated the governor for his earnest efforts in combating crimes and all forms of insecurity in the state especially the recent distribution of 25 Hilux vehicles to all security agencies operating in the states.

He called for increased empowerment of the Amotekun Corps and other sister security agencies operating in the State.

Gbegudu during a plenary moved a motion for vote of confidence to be passed in the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed “Amotekun” which was subsequently had the support of other members of the house ,for its effective performance in addressing security concerns in the state .

He said that the move was to assure the corps that people of the state had immense trust in the corps and support its activities provided it was done within the ambits of the law that created it.

He thereby enjoined the Nigeria Army,Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC and other security agencies to collaborate with the Corps and intensify efforts by re-introducing the joint patrol of all security agencies to further strengthen the system.

The Committee Chairman lauded the Speaker, Chief Olamide Oladiji, House Committee members on Security and fellow lawmakers for their support and assured the house that Amotekun Corps and other sister security agencies operating in the state will continue its efforts in reducing crime rates in the state.
