Saraki mourns as Senator Garbai loses mother

A former member of the Senate, Senator Baba Garbai, (All Progressives Congress, Borno Central) on Tuesday, lost his mother, Hajja Zainaba.

Garbai made this known in a terse statement made available to our correspondent on Tuesday.

According to him, funeral prayers for the deceased will be held by 4 pm (Tuesday) at the Shehu of Borno’s Palace in Maiduguri, the state capital.

The statement read, “Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un. With deep sorrow and total submission to the will of Allah (SWT), I regret to inform you of the passing of my beloved mother, Hajja Zainaba.

“The funeral prayers (Salat al-Janazah) will be held at the Shehu of Borno’s Palace, Maiduguri, at 4pm.

“May Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus.”

Meanwhile, former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has commiserated with Garbai and his family on his loss.

In a statement sent to our correspondent on Tuesday, the former senate president prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

He also prayed for divine strength and comfort for the family of the deceased.

The statement read, “I offer my heartfelt condolences to my dear friend, Senator Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai, and his family on the passing of his beloved mother, Hajja Zainaba.

“May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant her a place in Al Jannah Firdaus and provide comfort and strength to the Garbai family during this difficult time.”
