PDP is dead —Ex-Kano Governor, Kwankwaso
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, no longer holds relevance in Nigeria.
During the inauguration of a newly renovated party office in Katsina State on Saturday, Kwankwaso explained that he and his supporters exited the PDP because, in his words, “the party is dead.”
“I wish to remind you that PDP is dead because we left the party. Since they have gone out of the line, we decided to check out,” he said.
Kwankwaso expressed confidence in winning the 2027 presidential election, asserting that the NNPP is prepared to not only secure the presidency but also make significant gains in state elections.
The former Kano State governor urged Nigerians not to be swayed by gifts or monetary incentives in the upcoming general elections.
In addition, Katsina NNPP Chairman, Armaya’u Abdulkadir, highlighted that the party is working hard to educate voters on the new party logo. He explained that the logo symbolizes the NNPP’s commitment to providing education for all, which is a key priority for the Kwankwasiyya movement.
“There is the need for the party to embark on grassroots sensitisation to inform the members on the importance of the new logo,” he said
