The Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede, has said that traditional rulers in Ondo State endorsed the candidature of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the November 16 governorship election because he’s the best hand for the State.

The monarch stated this on Wednesday while receiving the Governor on a consultation/engagement visit to his palace at Igbara-Oke, headquarters of Ifedore Local Government Area as part of the campaign tour of the Governor to the area.

Oba Agbede said Governor Aiyedatiwa has listening ears and has displayed the quality of ‘Omoluabi’ by treating the traditional institution in the State with utmost respect.

The monarch said the achievements so far recorded by the Governor in his ten months in office are impressive which shows that he will perform well if elected for a full term in office.

According to Oba Agbede, the people of Igbara-Oke and Ifedore are solidly behind Governor Aiyedatiwa and will vote for him en-masse on November 16.

At the palace of Olujare of Ijare, the Sapetu of Ijare, High Chief Wemimo Olaniyan, speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers in the community, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his achievements in a short period of time.

Olaniyan, however, appealed to the governor to prioritize the completion of the Oke-Odu to Ijare road and address other pressing community needs, pledging the full support of the Ijare community for his election.

In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation for the warm reception and unwavering support from the traditional rulers and residents. He assured the people of his administration’s commitment to meeting their expectations.

He said: “I am truly grateful for the overwhelming support and the confidence you have shown in our administration. Your requests, including the completion of the Oke-Odu to Ijare road, are well noted, and I assure you that we will address them promptly. We remain committed to improving infrastructure and delivering projects that will uplift every corner of this state.”

The Governor emphasized that his administration’s development agenda is people-centered and promised that ongoing efforts across all sectors will continue to reflect the priorities of the people.

Earlier, the Governor performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Ijare Central Market, a project aimed at boosting local trade and enhancing the economic landscape of the community.

The Governor was also at the palace of the Alara of Ilara-Mokin, Oba Abiodun Aderemi Adefehinti, who commended the Governor’s developmental efforts and the appointment of sons and daughters of Ifedore into key positions in government.

The monarch also reeled out the needs of the community, which the Governor promised to address, adding: “We will double our efforts to ensure that all your requests are addressed promptly.”

Addrssing the residents who troopped out to welcome him, the Governor said: “Our government remains focused on delivering lasting infrastructure and improved services that will benefit every citizen”, the Governor added.
