Euphoria as Olumbe Akinkugbe Foundation Launches Phase II of Bagbe Community Market
The Olumbe Akinkugbe Foundation has launched the second phase of the Bagbe Community Market, a significant community development project aimed at empowering residents to improve their lives. This initiative aligns with the foundation’s mission to promote good living standards in the state, driven by Olumbe Akinkugbe’s passion for community development rather than political motivations.
“The completed market which has a total stall of 36 is expected to reduce living costs for community members by eliminating the need to transport goods to neighboring communities for sale. Instead, it will become a hub for surrounding communities to sell their products, fostering economic growth and convenience” Olumbe said in his address.
Key features of the project to be included in the Q1 of 2025:
- Drainage System: Construction of drainage linked to the main express drainage to prevent flooding during rainy seasons.
- Signage: Erection of a prominent signpost at the market entrance to raise awareness among passersby.
Olumbe Akinkugbe demonstrated his commitment to the community’s well-being by donating ₦500,000 to market women for easier product purchases and an additional ₦250,000 to the market men.
The pioneer LCDA chairman praised the foundation’s generosity and support, highlighting the project’s significance among many initiatives during his tenure.
The market construction which has a total stall of 36 is the 3rd intervention in Bagbe community by the Olumbe Akinkugbe Foundation, first being medical outreach in 2022 then a donation of a 10kv generator for the community health center.
