The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Olamide Oladiji, has passionately appealed to members of the assembly to continue to create time for legislative duties despite the Nov. 16 governorship electioneering.
Oladiji, during a plenary on Tuesday, said that the members of the assembly must take into cognizance the importance of 2025 budget presentation that would come up in December.
He reassured people of the state of the irrevocable commitment to the programmes and policies of the present administration in the state.
The speaker appreciated the assembly and its clerk, Mr Benjamin Jaiyeoba, for the great diligence shown in carrying out assiduous legislative assignments in 2024.
According to him, the recorded achievements since he was saddled with the mantle of leadership are as a result of unalloyed cooperation and support.
Oladiji recalled that the assembly had passed no fewer than eight bills had been passed in the year, adding that there were a lot to still be done in ensuring better governance.
The speaker, who declared a six-week recess, said that the recess would enable the lawmakers to campaign and sensitize their respective constituents on the importance of exercising their franchise ahead of the forthcoming poll.
He urged political gladiators, the generality of people of the state to tread cautiously throughout the on-going electioneering campaign and during/after the election.
