Oyo inaugurates classrooms, borehole projects in community

The Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency has inaugurated a block of three classrooms and a motorized borehole in the Iganna community, Iwajowa Local Government Area, as part of its efforts to enhance access to education and clean water.

The projects were commissioned on Wednesday by the Chairman of OYCSDA, Abideen Adeaga, alongside the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, and former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Adeniyi Farinto.

Speaking during the event, Adeaga highlighted the agency’s commitment to improving the learning environment for students and teachers while addressing pressing community needs.

“This block of three classrooms, equipped with furniture for both teachers and students, is designed to provide a durable and conducive learning atmosphere,” he said.

Adeaga also lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for funding micro-projects across the state, which he said have significantly alleviated the challenges faced by rural communities.

“We are grateful to Governor Makinde for his unwavering support in ensuring the success of projects in education, healthcare, water sanitation, and erosion control,” he added.

In addition to the classroom project, a motorised borehole was commissioned at Olopele Village, Idiko-Ago, to provide clean water for residents of the Tiwalere community.

The Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government, Muritala Oyewumi, expressed appreciation to the state government and OYCSDA for addressing critical community needs.

“We thank the governor for fostering socioeconomic development across the state and commend the agency for its timely interventions in education, water, and sanitation,” Oyewumi said.
