Police Rescue Two from Mob in Edo Over Alleged Manhood Theft
The Edo State Police Command on Saturday intervened to save two individuals, including a minor, from being lynched by a mob over allegations of manhood theft.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Yamu, explained that officers responded to a distress call and successfully rescued the accused duo.
The incident began when a man alleged that his manhood had been stolen, triggering an aggressive reaction from onlookers. However, reports later revealed that the accuser had tested himself and confirmed his manhood was functioning properly.
The police ensured the safety of the suspects by taking them into custody. After preliminary investigations, they were released to their families for medical care.
SP Yamu condemned the mob action, urging the public to reject jungle justice. “This is an unfortunate situation. The police responded promptly, rescuing the individuals from the mob. Sources later disclosed that the alleged victim confirmed his manhood was intact after testing it,” the statement read.
The police further stated that efforts are ongoing to locate the accuser and clarify the events. “Let’s say no to jungle justice based on unfounded claims,” the statement concluded.
