Tinubu turned Abuja, other Nigerian cities to London in one year: Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has lauded the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to infrastructural development in the country, comparing Abuja and other cities in Nigeria to London.

Mr Akpabio spoke while delivering a speech at the presentation of the 2025 budget proposal by Mr Tinubu on Wednesday.

“Notably, your infrastructural renaissance has paved a way, including the Coastal Road— a crucial axis in Abuja capital city. Imagine Abuja now looking almost like London and other parts of our country,” Mr Akpabio noted.

Mr Akpabio further said that the economic reforms of Mr Tinubu had started yielding positive results, emphasizing “commendable” efforts by the administration to address security challenges in the country.

Acknowledging the positive result of Nigeria’s bilateral relationships with foreign countries, Mr Akpabio noted that Nigerians could now travel abroad with ease as many countries now respect Nigerian nationals.

Meanwhile, Mr Tinubu presented a proposed budget of N47.9 trillion to the joint session of the National Assembly, listing key priorities of the administration as Defence and Security N4.91 trillion; Infrastructure N4.6 trillion; Heath N2.48 trillion; Education N3.5 trillion, among others.

He said the budget sought to ensure macroeconomic stability, poverty reduction, promoting economic stability and developing human capital development, stressing its potential to secure the country’s ambition.
