The mother of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who was successfully treated at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi has commended the dedication of the hospital’s healthcare workers.

According to Arewa PUNCH, the patient, Victory Solomon, sustained life-threatening injuries in a serious car accident while serving in Bauchi State. Her mother, Catherine Wakasa, expressed profound gratitude for the prompt and effective care provided by the ATBUTH team, which ensured her daughter’s recovery.

As a gesture of appreciation, Wakasa donated various food items and essentials to other patients receiving care at the hospital. These items included rice, noodles, pasta, clothes, detergents, laboratory kits, beverages, and biscuits.

Wakasa, who is also the founder of an orphanage in Wukari, Taraba State, praised the hospital staff as “dedicated professionals” and described their services as compassionate and efficient. “The visit was to acknowledge the exceptional care my daughter received at ATBUTH after her accident,” she said.

During the donation event, ATBUTH Chief Medical Director Yusuf Bara, represented by Haruna Liman, commended Wakasa’s generosity, describing it as a first in the hospital’s history. He added that such acts of kindness inspire confidence in public healthcare institutions and reinforce ATBUTH’s commitment to excellent service delivery.

The Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Suleiman, represented by Rev. Abdutale, also lauded the hospital’s management and staff for their high standards of care. He praised Wakasa’s act of kindness as a reflection of the values of compassion and community support, highlighting Bauchi State’s reputation for peace and hospitality.
