Mercy Chinwo, Blessed Uzochikwa commend Biden for lifetime awards, extol his selfless service

Dynamic gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have commended outgoing United States President Joe Biden for his selfless service to humanity.

The couple, in a statement, saluted the outgoing president for his recognition of their contribution to American society through tuneful and prophetic songs that inspire hope and faith in the lives of people.

“Ecclesiastes 3:1 says ‘To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.’

“As President Joe Biden’s time in office draws to a close, we are reminded of the passage of time and the seasons of life. Each chapter, no matter how significant, eventually gives way to the next. It is a poignant reminder that what truly matters is the legacy we leave behind—the values we uphold, the lives we touch, and the good we do for others.

“In the spirit of gratitude, we are deeply honoured to have received the President Biden Lifetime Achievement Award last year. This recognition serves as a powerful reminder to remain committed to serving humanity through charity, education, and the principles of faith.

“We extend our sincere thanks to President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for this honour and for their dedication to championing the power of service and community impact.

“We wish them love and peace as they retire home as senior citizens of the United States of America.”

Earlier in October 2024, Biden, 82, presented the President Lifetime Service Award to the duo of Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa for their service to the American people living in the United States and all around the world.

In a letter presented to the couple, Biden said, “The American story depends not on any one of us, not on some of us, but on all of us. I congratulate you on taking it upon yourself to contribute to the public good and I am proud to present you with President’s Lifetime Service Award in recognition to your 5,000 hours of service to this great nation.

“By sharing your time and passion, you are helping discover and deliver solutions to the challenges we face – solutions that we need now more than ever. We are living in a moment that calls for hope and light and love. Hope for our futures, light to see our way forward, and love for one another. Through your service, you are providing all three.”

The President’s Lifetime Service Award is one of the most prestigious civil recognitions in the United States, bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to volunteer service and building a stronger nation.

Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa got married in August 2022. The duo co-owns the Grace and Truth Nation (GNT) Nation, a music label which has signed and nurtured many gospel artistes. The record label has a charity arm named the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation which has carried out many philanthropic projects around Nigeria.

The mission of GNT Nation is to share the love and message of Jesus Christ through various channels, inspiring and encouraging people to worship God, as well as live out their faith in everyday life.
