The kidnappers of retired General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have demanded a ransom of N250 million for his release.
As reported by Politics Nigeria, a close family source, who requested anonymity, confirmed that the gunmen had contacted Tsiga’s relatives with their demands.
The retired General was kidnapped alongside nine others during an attack on his residence at midnight on Wednesday. Reports indicate that about 100 armed men stormed the house, forcibly gaining entry before abducting Tsiga and the other victims.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that as the gunmen attempted to break down doors, Tsiga confronted them to ask what they wanted before he was taken away.
Security agencies are yet to provide an official statement regarding efforts to rescue the former NYSC boss and other abductees.
