A farmer and a labourer were abducted by unidentified gunmen at Oke Oge, near Oba Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. The incident occurred on Saturday evening as the victims were returning from a farm close to Akure Airport.
Confirming the development, the state commander of Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, assured that security operatives had been deployed to secure their release.
“We are on top of the situation,” Adeleye stated. “The victims were kidnapped while returning from the farm, and our men have been mobilized to rescue them.”
Meanwhile, the kidnappers have reportedly contacted the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of N15 million for their release.
