Two arrested over murder, beheading of 10-year-old

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of a 10-year-old boy in Jada Local Government Area.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Suleiman Nguroje, officers attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Jada apprehended 27-year-old Ibrahim Abdul Malik and 18-year-old Aliyu Abdul Malik, both residents of Anguwan Sarkin Yamma, Jada.

The suspects were accused of killing and beheading a young Almajiri, identified as Abdalla Lawali, who was reported missing on March 7, 2025.

Since the report, police and local residents had been searching for the child.

Acting on credible intelligence, officers were deployed to the scene by Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris.

The decomposed body of the victim was eventually found concealed in a sack.

CP Morris strongly condemned the act, describing it as barbaric, and ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation and prosecution.

He reassured the public that justice would be served and urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
