Security agencies launch manhunt for abductors of naval officer, two others in Abuja

Security operativest have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers of a Defence Headquarters official, Lieutenant Cynthia Akor, and two other residents abducted in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to reports, the victims were kidnapped on the night of Friday, March 21, from their residence in the Mpape area of Abuja.

Lieutenant Akor, a naval officer, was among those taken by the armed assailants.

Sources revealed that the kidnappers have already contacted the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.

“Three people were abducted in Mpape on Friday night, including Lieutenant Akor,” a security source disclosed.

“The kidnappers are demanding N100 million, and a joint rescue operation by police and military personnel is already underway.”

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, said she had yet to confirm the incident.

“I will confirm and get back to you shortly,” she stated.
