BREAKING: Rivers Administrator suspends SSG, other appointees
The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has ordered the immediate suspension of all political appointees and officeholders in the state.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Chief of Staff to the Administrator confirmed that the action was taken under the authority granted to Ibas by President Bola Tinubu.
Among those affected are the Secretary to the State Government, the Chief of Staff, all commissioners, heads and members of boards, agencies, and commissions, as well as Special Advisers, Special Assistants, and Senior Special Assistants.
Suspended officials have been instructed to transfer responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
In cases where no Permanent Secretary is available, the most senior Director or Head of Administration will take charge.
