A lightning strike has tragically killed a young herder and 12 cows in Matuak Giwa, Bondon District, Moro’a Chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Village Head of Matuak Giwa, Simon Ayuba, confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that the herder was seeking shelter from the rain with his cattle when the lightning struck, killing them instantly.
“The herder, along with 12 cows, died on the spot.
It was a devastating incident that has left the community in shock,” Ayuba said.
The Ardo of Bondon District, Tanko Isiyaka, also confirmed the tragedy, identifying the deceased as a native of Bauchi State.
He expressed deep sorrow over the loss and called for prayers and support for the bereaved family.
The victim was laid to rest according to Islamic rites, as relatives and community members mourned the sudden and heartbreaking loss.
