Family seeks public help after five-year-oldgirl abducted in Lagos

A Lagos family is pleading for assistance after their five-year-old daughter, Memunah Abdulrahman, was kidnapped by a suspected abductor in the Ejigbo area.

The incident occurred on March 9, 2025, when Memunah and her sister were on their way home from an Islamic school. According to sources, they were approached by a man near a well-known supermarket.

The suspect led them inside the store, pretending to buy them items. However, he later vanished with Memunah, leaving her sister behind.

Following a report to the Ejigbo Divisional Police Headquarters, authorities reviewed CCTV footage, which showed the suspect abducting the child and escaping in a tricycle.

Memunah’s mother, Bashirah Abdulrahman, made an emotional appeal for help.

“The man initially tried to take both of my daughters, but when the older one started crying, he fled with Memunah,” she recounted.

Her father, Abdurrahman Alimi, expressed frustration over the lack of progress.

“We have spent so much trying to find her, but there has been no breakthrough.

The police have CCTV footage, yet we have no results. We desperately need help,” he said.

Community secretary Ojagbami confirmed that despite efforts to trace the suspect, no significant progress has been made since the case was reported.

“We have done everything necessary, but there is still no concrete development,” he lamented.

When contacted, state police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said he was unaware of the incident but promised to investigate.

This case follows another kidnapping incident reported on March 26, 2025, when a Lagos landlord’s daughter and another individual were abducted in the Ijede community around 9 pm.

The authorities continue to investigate these cases.
