Deputy Speaker Kalu condemns Plateau killings, urges arrest of attackers

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has strongly condemned the recent attacks on several communities in Plateau State by suspected gunmen.

The violent assaults reportedly took place in Ruwi, Hurti, and Tadai communities in Bokkos Local Government Area, as well as Manguna and Dafo villages, leaving multiple homes destroyed and families devastated.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, in Abuja on Sunday, Kalu expressed deep outrage over the killings. He described the acts of violence as unacceptable and called on all patriotic Nigerians to denounce such brutality.

Kalu commended President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring that those responsible are apprehended and brought to justice.

He also pledged the National Assembly’s full support in backing the president’s efforts to restore peace and security.

Offering his condolences, the deputy speaker extended sympathy to the families of the victims, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and the people of Plateau State.

He further urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant bodies to immediately provide relief materials to those affected.

Kalu stressed the need for swift intervention to ease the suffering of the victims.
