Bobrisky scammed in online romance, loses $990
Nigerian crossdresser and socialite Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, has revealed that he lost $990 in an online romance scam.
Sharing the experience on Instagram on Sunday, Bobrisky expressed disbelief that he had fallen for such a scheme.
He said the scammer had been chatting with him for months, initially claiming to live in the U.S. before saying he had moved to Canada.
The two communicated regularly, with the scammer showing consistent interest in his life.
“I never thought I’d ever be a victim,” Bobrisky wrote.
“He called me almost every day and we got really close.”
The situation escalated when a U.S.-based client contacted Bobrisky for a promotion and wanted to make a deposit through CashApp.
Since Bobrisky didn’t have the app, he asked his online lover to receive the money on his behalf.
Once the money was sent, the scammer immediately blocked him.
Bobrisky shared screenshots of their conversation and a photo of the alleged scammer, urging fans to stay vigilant and avoid falling for similar traps.
