BREAKING: Police disperse take-It-back protesters with tear gas in Rivers

Tensions rose at a Take-It-Back protest in Rivers State when police officers from the Rivers State Command used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

The protest, organized by the Take It Back Movement, Civil Society Organizations, and the Niger Delta Congress, began at Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt.

However, the group faced immediate resistance from the Rivers State Police, who instructed them to relocate to another venue.

Despite the request, the protesters remained undeterred, chanting solidarity songs as they marched through the park and toward Aba Express Road.

At the CFC junction, the protesters were intercepted by armed anti-riot police, who ordered them to leave the street.

When the protesters refused to comply, the police responded by firing tear gas, causing the demonstrators to scatter in search of safety.
