Aiyedatiwa dissolves Ondo football board, appoints caretaker committee

Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has taken decisive action by dissolving the management board of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) with immediate effect.

This decision was announced in a statement issued on April 9, 2025, by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

In a move that has raised eyebrows, Governor Aiyedatiwa relieved Mr. Dele Ologun, the Executive Chairman, and all other members of their duties.

The affected individuals have been directed to hand over all government properties in their possession to the agency’s accounting officer.

To ensure the smooth operation of Sunshine Stars Football Club, the Governor has approved the establishment of a caretaker committee.

This new body will manage the club’s day-to-day activities, with Mr. Tokunbo Akinyelure appointed as the Team Manager and Welfare Officer.

The full list of members appointed to the caretaker committee includes:

Morris Kwaghzever – Special Duties, Abdul Wahab – Kits Manager, Elias Michael – Masseur, Adetula Olumide – Physiotherapist, Ayodeji Abe – Camp Commandant, Ademola Ayodeji – Assistant Kits Manager 1, Oria Sola – Assistant Kits Manager 2, Imisi Ayodele – Curator, Isaac Afolabi – Media Officer

The newly formed committee will report directly to the Governor’s Office, which will oversee its operations to ensure the effective management of the club.

Governor Aiyedatiwa has tasked the caretaker committee with revitalizing the Sunshine Stars FC, urging them to work diligently towards restoring the club’s former success.
