The Lagos State Police Command has arrested eight individuals involved in a series of cult-related killings around Yaba College of Technology and its vicinity. The arrests took place on April 29, 2025, following an intelligence-driven operation.

According to a statement from the police, the suspects were apprehended by tactical operatives who acted on information gathered regarding violent cult activities in the area.

The arrested suspects include: Adeyemo Abdulsamad (24), also known as “Cloud,” Afeez Enitan (28), Ayomide Daniel (30), Olamilekan Adeagbo (26), also known as “Skinny,” Mayor Samson (28), Basit Ishola (20), Quadri Sikiru (26), and Mariam Salihu (23).

During the operation, the police seized several weapons, including a Beretta pistol, four 9mm rounds of ammunition, a cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in cult activities and other related crimes.

The police assured the public that the suspects would face legal consequences.

“The suspects will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” the statement read.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the tactical teams and the Eko Strike Force for their swift action during the operation.

He also urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

Jimoh reiterated the commitment of the Lagos Police Command to ensuring the safety of all residents and visitors in the state, assuring that efforts to combat crime will continue.
