Popular TikTok influencer Peller has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other relevant authorities, demanding the immediate release of social media critic Verydarkman.
Verydarkman was reportedly arrested several days ago along with an unnamed associate—who has since been freed—and taken to an undisclosed location.
The circumstances of his detention have raised concerns among his followers and allies on social media.
In a viral video posted online, Peller called on the individual or group responsible for the petition that allegedly triggered the arrest to withdraw it immediately.
He described the continued detention as unjust and detrimental to those who rely on Verydarkman’s support.
“If you know you’re the one behind the arrest of Verydarkman, I give you 24 hours to release him, and here’s why,” Peller said.
“You are blocking the people whom this guy feeds and donates to.”
Peller also recalled how Verydarkman had defended him publicly during intense online criticism over his stance on the 30-day social media campaign against President Tinubu’s handling of the economy.
“This guy has helped a lot and changed a lot. Release that man!” he added.
