The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Samson Oghenebreme, for allegedly transporting human organs intended for ritual purposes.
According to police reports, the suspect was apprehended in the Odomola community of Epe on April 25, 2025.
In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the arrest followed credible intelligence from members of the public who reported Oghenebreme’s suspicious movements. “The recovered human organs have been deposited at the General Hospital in Epe for preservation,” the statement noted.
The case has since been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended both the swift action of police officers and the vigilance of the local community.
He emphasized the crucial role of timely information sharing in ensuring public safety and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
