Popular Nollywood actor, Adeniyi Johnson, has shared his harrowing experience of narrowly escaping an attempted robbery in Lagos shortly after returning to Nigeria.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the 47-year-old actor posted a video and photo showing damage to his vehicle, attributing his safety to his quick thinking and alertness during the incident.

According to Johnson, the attempted robbery occurred in a matter of seconds.

He described how three armed individuals suddenly surrounded his vehicle, attempting to break his windshield and steal his side mirrors.

“Thank God for smartness and alertness! If not, the attached video would have been worse! It all happened within 15 seconds,” he wrote.

“I heard a big bang on my windshield, and the next thing I saw were three thugs all over my car.”

He added that the attackers came from both sides of the vehicle, shouting in Yoruba to remove the mirrors and break the glass.

The incident occurred after Alapere, while Johnson was trying to navigate past two slow-moving trailers obstructing the road.

Johnson also revealed that this was not his first such encounter, noting a similar incident in April around 7:15 p.m., while the most recent one occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m.

He warned others to stay vigilant, especially around areas near the Third Mainland Bridge and the Secretariat before Magodo. “God keep keeping us,” he concluded.
